CLL welcomes Chellaston Cricket Club to the park

We’re really excited to announce and welcome a new addition to Chellaston Park.

CHELLASTON CRICKET CLUB

The new cricket club will use Chellaston Park as their home ground and they play in the Derbyshire County Cricket leagues.

The club will initially base their 2nd and 3rd teams at the park for the 2021 season; allowing us time to put in place the infrastructure and developments needed to bring the cricket facilities up to the standard required to host 1st team cricket.

The club currently has 3 adult teams and a junior section.

When Chellaston Leisure took on the management of the parks sports facilities; it was one of our ambitions to have a ‘local’ cricket team based here.

We’ll be working very closely with Chellaston CC; as we do AFC Chellaston to bring further developments to the facilities and having two Chellaston clubs using the park as their home compliments the new Community bar and venue that will soon be open (Covid permitting).

Opportunities:

- Sponsorship - we will have sponsorship opportunities for the pavilion and the cricket club are looking for a team sponsor. Please ask for details.

- Pitch preparation - we are looking for anyone interested in volunteering some time and with a knowledge of cricket pitch preparation that would like to help out with this exciting venture, if you can help, please get in touch.

- Scorer - we are looking for people with a knowledge and interest in cricket that can assist with keeping score during matches, if interested please get in touch.
